Sadly, Kathy Short had to put down her Raleigh boy today. He was diagnosed with ehrlichiosis complicated with some type of lymphatic disease. He had been ill but was being treated for the past several weeks. Today a major downturn occurred.
As you can imagine, she is absolutely devastated. Raleigh was only months old when Kathy adopted him from ATRA long ago. That began our long term friendship and her involvement in Airedale Rescue.
Raleigh was a great rescue ambassador and a hospitable host for wayward foster dogs. He once graced the ATRA calendar as he loved to feel the wind in his curls in her convertible VW bug. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was quite a character.
