Rescue Airedale, Truman, became certified as an animal assisted therapy dog working at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The therapy program was initiated in 2007 and Truman became the first Airedale to be admitted to the club. He not only visits patients but visits libraries, schools, senior centers, and other hospital affiliated buildings. It is an amazing experience to see how simply seeing a dog can bring a smile to the face of a patient or staff member. There seems to be no end to what this amazing breed can do.
