SOAR wants to thank everyone who contributed in one way or another to the Borders and Barnes and Nobles gift wraps and the Crown Classic events for SOAR.  Because of your joint efforts, we were able to raise $1,395.39 in just two short weeks prior to Christmas!  You are all Aire-Angels!  Read all about these events below.  Can you see the Airedales smiling? Mary Cole ready to wrap!

SOAR volunteers from southeast Michigan gathered for the first time to try their hand at raising awareness for Airedale rescue and raising a few dollars for SOAR.  Mike Billion and Kirk Nims drove out from Royal Oak with the Deerfield Pack so that customers could see an Airedale up close and personal.  Mary Cole, Lynn O'Shaughnessy and Cathy Peabody took turns wrapping.

Border's provided the paper, tape and scissors, and Mary brought candy cane pencils and holiday bookmarks to add to each package wrapped.  Kirk and Mike brought real candy canes, which were also a hit.  Each package also had a little SOAR label affixed to the back with our Website information and each customer walked away with one of our SOAR rescue newsletters.

The SOAR poster was also a big hit and several people got a chuckle from the photos representing Airedale traits.  Thank you everyone for taking the time to represent SOAR on this busy weekend before Christmas!

Mike and Miles take a break in between customers.  Miles was such a good boy!

Thanks to Melissa for getting us organized and thanks to everyone who was able to come and work.   It was good to see everyone!!    ---Sandy Check

Thanks to our wonderful Indy volunteers, we raised money for our SOAR Airedales at Sunday's Borders Gift wrap!  A good time was had by all with a chance to share lots of Airedale stories and an opportunity to raise awareness about our rescue.

A huge thanks to all of our volunteers that made the blustery winter trip to help us out.  Paws up & wet beard kisses to the Reitz clan, Karen Dietrick, Cheri Andrews, Sandy Check, and the Bowser family.
