Abbey is a 7-year old female, spayed, all shots current.  She loves to cuddle when her excitement is over with.  She does bark at other dogs- but not aggressive to others.  She resided in her cage 90% of the time beside her nephew Tyson.  They have been together since puppies.  Her owner passed away approximately one year ago and the current owner (husband) just wanted to "dump" them.  She will need a 6-foot fence as well.  She does listen, however, she will also need some basic obedience training (not to jump fences) and walk on lead.

Bingley is a delightful, sweet boy with a curly, undocked tail. He and his sister were both surrendered to SOAR. His sister was adopted some time ago, but we felt Bingley needed some training before we placed him. During the past few months, he has been in a wonderful foster home where he has learned a lot. He has been to obedience classes and his foster mom says he is very, very smart and has responded extremely well to training. He LOVES people and gets along great with other dogs. He probably shouldn’t be placed with small children because he could hurt them with his enthusiasm, but he’s a wonderful dog with older kids. He has met cats without serious incident as long as his foster mom tells him he can’t chase them.

Bingley needs to have an owner who knows how to be firm, yet kind. His adopter needs to be a leader who won’t let Bing be the boss. He responds extremely well to this kind of leadership and is a happy dog when he knows who’s in charge. He is an eager student under these circumstances and would probably be a great obedience or agility competitor, but he would also be happy being a pet. He needs lots of exercise to burn off his energy and would enjoy having another dog to play with.

Bing is very healthy. As is true of all SOAR dogs, he has been thoroughly vet checked and neutered. He has a beautiful, naturally short and wiry coat which hardly sheds at all. He’s a great youngster with a very promising future in the right home.

If you think you have a home for Bingley, please fill out our adoption application and get in touch with us.

My name is Abby. My life has been turned upside down…and now I need your help. I just lost my home of 10 years.

I am basically a good girl. I love people and will greet new people with a wiggle butt. I am okay with other big dogs as long as they are not young squirts who want to play too much. I am fine in a crate. I ride well in a car. I love my food but can stand to lose a few pounds. I enjoy being outdoors, but I also enjoy being around my family.

So why did I lose my home? Well, there was a little toddler human in my family. Remember when I said I like my food? Do you get the picture?

On a happier note, the nice humans at SOAR said they would help me find a new family to love for my golden years. After they picked me up, they took me to the vet human who poked me with a whole bunch of needles. I never once showed the vet my teeth...even when they injected me with my microchip! Did I say I was a good girl? The vet was really nice though and gave me lots of treats when it was over.

I do have some arthritis and get up slowly. I still like to go for walks though. You may have to teach me some leash manners, but please don’t let that stop you from enjoying my charm. All I need is a chance…a chance to show you what a lovable girl I am. Will you give me that chance? I am a good girl.

ABBY UPDATE
Hey everyone!
My first week here with my foster mom has been super!  She is a groomer and got me looking really spiffy.  I was such a good girl…even when she got the knots out of my feet.  Remember I said how good I was?
My foster mom also found out that I sit nicely for treats…and she has been taking me for walks.  I will have more to tell you in a few days.  I am trying to talk my foster mom into taking some pics with me new hair-do.  Until then…
